I love Hummus. It's healthy, cheap and easy to make. It's versatile too, you can do what you want with it. Spread it on bread, serve it with roasted chantenay carrots or use it as a salsa for crisps. I didn't make the breadsticks this time, but I've found a recipe now so that's next on the list... But then again, there's a lot on the list, I haven't even had lasagne this year! With regards to the recipe below, you can basically do whatever you want with hummus, adding roasted peppers instead of onion and so forth, just mix something with chickpeas and sesame paste and voilĂ !
INGREDIENTS
Cooked chickpeas (a tin), few mins on the hob.
Sesame Paste (two tbsp.)
One Onion, caramelised in white wine vinegar
Pinch of Salt
Bit of Pepper
Spices (whatever takes your fancy)
Some honey (2 tbsp.)
RECIPE
Cook the chickpeas and the onion (not together) and then mix it with all the other ingredients before blending it. The trick is to use a bit of water from the chickpeas to make the Hummus the right texture.
How long did that last? More than 2 minutes?
