APPLE CRUMBLE
1 KG Apples (or any kind of fruit, but apples tend to be best used as the main fruit)
6 Oz/180g Plain Flour
3 Oz/90g Butter
2 oZ/60g Sugar (best to use an unrefined Caster Sugar)
Peel, core and slice the apples before softening them in a pan, adding a little water beforehand. Try adding a teaspoonful of cinnamon and/or a liquer of your choice. About 5-10 mins should do.
Crumble the flour and butter together until it resembles fine breadcrumbs and then stir in the sugar (the order is important).
Place apples in a dish, cover with the crumble mixture and voilĂ .
Bake for 30-40 mins at Gas Mark 6 (200c).
Serve with custard, creme or yoghurt.
It looks quite tasty. I'd like to try it.
